Peavey Milestone II P-Bass

This is the first guitar I ever purchased. I bought it from Biasco Music which is not around anymore, but was around Belmont and Central. i bought it on april 1st 1996. I paid $190 for it and got a cord (which i still have) and some picks. I had never even really picked up a guitar before I boguht this. When i got it played so goddamn much at one point i didnt change the strings for a real long time and they turned pure orange with rust! I really played this fucking thing alot. The day I bought it I went and saw Primus live for the 1st of 2 times in my life, at the Aragon Ballroom on their 'Tales from the Punchbowl' tour. I bought the sticker you see under the strings. I have had many other stickers come and go on this bass, but I'll never fuck with that one. I rememebr I tried to play with my fingers for like 2 days when i bought it becuase the only person I really knew that played (hilger, who now plays bass for low profile!!) played with his hand. i had trouble tho and someone handed me a pick. I also remember playing this thing in the alley outside of mike pryzbleks garage with me mike and tony perry. tony perry showed me 'ashtray' by screeching weasel and i was convinced it was one of the hardest bass lines of all times.

I started a band about 4 months after i bought this, in the summer of 1996. The band was called CFD. we were only around for about a year but we played 4 shows. When low profile started, i was playing the bass then too, i had only barely fucked around with guitars at that point and didnt own a guitar amp at all. (tho i had a guitar, the Strat). Well after a few initial line up changes, i moved to gutiar and called up hilger to play the bass. So the peavey went into storage for along time. going in storage is no problem for teh peavey, since I have a dope as fuck custom fender case, which is super heavy duty. My grandparents got it for me a month or 2 after i started playing, they actually kidnapped my bass for a day to make the case custom fit for it!

The bass came out of storage around 1998 when low profile recorded our first album, 15 Story Fireball. Hilger only had one bass at the time, The Ibanez, and he had brought it in to get new pickups and it wasnt ready in time. So on that album Hilger is actually playing my bass!

the bass next came out of storage so i could fill in for bass with local group Eternal Bliss. That band had been broken up for a while, but wanted to reunite so they could record some of their unreleased material and their bassist didnt want to be involved. We recorded 6 songs, some of which you can hear here.

It came out of storage again in 2003 when our friends Shooting Blanks had a problem, and their bassist Deech broke his pelvis. I played 2 1/2 gigs with them on bass (hilger played 3 1/2) and i used it for that. It was great to bust it out again.

I have also busted it out for a few impromptu jam sessions with random people including my buddy Bones (from Eternal Bliss) who is a drummer. Currenly it resides in my closet in its case, just chillin........and waiting.
