The Canadian seemed to leave a longer and more focused burn in my throat. Both have a malt stinkiness to 'em...for a moment the Canadian seemed to smell worse, but a moment later I would think they were more equal. The makers of both of them 40s did a good job minimizing differences outside of alcoholic content. The lack of overt differences between these 2 40s is a compliment to the Canadian version -- the ability to pack 2% or higher alcoholic content without tampering with the taste...or even color or smell!
